Associate General Counsel

The Opportunity

As Associate General Counsel, you will serve as the right hand to the General Counsel, supporting the firm in a wide range of legal and compliance matters. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across departments, provide practical legal advice, and help safeguard the firm’s interests while driving its continued growth and success.

Accountable for
 
  • Assisting the General Counsel in providing legal counsel on various matters including contracts, compliance, and risk management.
  • Conducting legal research, analyzing new and existing laws, and advising on their potential impact on the firm.
  • Supporting the drafting, review, and negotiation of vendor and partner agreements.
  • Collaborating with department heads to manage risk, compliance, and operational legal issues.
  • Helping to oversee litigation, investigations, and dispute resolution, coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and review of firm policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with California Bar and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Providing timely, practical legal solutions with a team-oriented and positive attitude in our Los Angeles office.

Qualifications
 
  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 4–7 years of experience practicing law, ideally with some in-house counsel experience.
  • Strong background in contracts, compliance, and risk management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and deliver practical business-focused solutions.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity in all dealings.
  • Experience in personal injury law is highly desirable but not required.

Compensation

$180,000 - $240,000 per year depending on experience, plus performance-based incentives
