About the Role
We're looking for our first General Counsel to own and evolve the legal strategy at the core of Carry. You'll help us build, scale, and refine the approaches that deliver financial services and move millions of dollars across banking, crypto, and retirement products.
This role is perfect for a product-focused attorney who loves solving real customer problems end-to-end—from brainstorming strategy and ideas through delivery and execution.
What You'll Do
Work in person with our team in our Williamsburg office
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Compliance functions to navigate complex legal questions and guide product and service development
Develop internal legal function as the company scales
Partner with outside counsel to examine complex legal and regulatory questions at the intersection of tax, retirement, regulatory, and financial services
What We're Looking For
JD; 5+ years of experience across law firm and in-house roles
Experience with any of: financial services (broker-dealer, FINRA, SEC investment adviser), ERISA (defined benefit / defined contribution, compensation), tax (IRC, tax firm), fintech (software services, platforms)
Product-minded and execution focused
Highly collaborative, strong written and verbal communicator
Compensation
Salary: $240,000 - $260,000
Equity: Generous Equity Package
