Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Office of General Counsel (OGC) located in Salt Lake City, Utah invites applications for the position of Associate General Counsel (AGC). SLCC is comprised of eight (8) campuses in the greater Salt Lake City metropolitan area comprised of varied study body exceeding 50,000 students. The college is an emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).
The Associate General Counsel will serve as an important member of the General Counsel’s office and engage in a wide-ranging, challenging, and rewarding higher education in-house legal practice under the direction of the General Counsel. The person selected will be expected to provide risk-related advice and other legal services on a wide range of legal matters, including, but not limited to, intellectual property, Title IX, immigration, student affairs, real estate, rulemaking, and contracts.
Practice areas also will include litigation management, policy development, administrative agency complaint matters, constitutional matters, compliance, responding to Government Records Access and Management Act (“GRAMA”) requests and subpoenas, and handling other matters as determined by the General Counsel.
This position is at-will.
